The Nobel laureate Dr Hargobind Khurana, renowned ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, noted Bollywood singer Sukhwinder Singh, famous Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans, the Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mumbai, Ms M.C. Borwankar and Dr. K.K. Talwar, Director of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, were students of DAV College, Jalandhar.

The field of sports has been dominated by the students of the college, which produced as many as 17 Olympians and 20 international players in hockey alone.

The College provides special training for CET/PMT/AIEEE examinations.
